Hamro Tundikhel was facilitated by Monal Bhattarai and Tripty Tamang Pakhrin. The workshop was based on Tripty’s work for the Kathmandu Valley Urban History Project, Tales of Tundikhel. The workshop was designed for participants to reflect on Tundikhel, its history, and their association with it. The session took an interesting turn from the very beginning since most participants had never been to Tundikhel, and some were outside of the valley. Participants further explored the significance and impact of Tundikhel on their lives- either directly or indirectly through their family histories, as well as through storytelling sessions by conservationist and historian, Alok Tuladhar. As they explored the impact and analyzed the history of space, they created zines as a significant component of the workshop. The facilitators had to ensure that the participants got maximum exposure and engagement despite the workshop being virtual. The workshop took place Sep 1- 30, 2021 over six sessions.
